track for today… disprove 'mix'

A bit of lughole-cleanout is in order, so here's an hour-long mix from drum'n'bass maestro Disprove, stumbled across via the Methlab Agency. Not much space or non-relentlessness in this mix, and it's all the better for it.

track for today… sweet williams 'the wrong order'

Sweet Williams are worthy of note not only because they grew out of a side project of an ex-Charlottefield member, but also because they produce the kind of music that's not often enough heard these days. Minor-key, mid-tempo post-rock with a Quarterstick Records kind of feel; all implied tension and frustrated emotion. Peachy. 'The Wrong Order' is part of a three-track EP, You Might Be Singing To Yourself, download sales revenue from which will help to fund a forthcoming album.

track for today… evil blizzard 'sacrifice'

I've previously mentioned the Mamuthones side of the Evil Blizzard/Mamuthones split LP on Rocket Recordings. Here's a freaky, cheeky video to accompany an edit of the Evil Blizzard side; the full version is over nine minutes in length.

track for today… the implicit order 'the dial-up love and terror cult'

For hauntology/Ghost Box fans seeking Satanic nightmares, The Implicit Order's Spirits Are Using Me Higher Voices Calling, self-described as "an audio love letter to the New Age and murder cults of the 1980s and 1990s" will do. Spooky and unsettling stuff.
